Update 3/23/20

Brothers and sisters in Christ:
How are you doing? I hope you are hanging tough!  It’s hard for everyone right now, but as Christ followers we are called to watch out for each other.

In fact, this is what Paul wrote in Galatians 5:13 – For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another. 14For the whole law is summed up in a single commandment, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 15If, however, you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.
Paul quotes Jesus from Matthew 22 about loving our neighbor.  How do we do that right now?  Loving our neighbor in this situation means keeping our distance. When we love others – especially in this crisis – we reflect God’s love for all.

An updatethere will be no in-person services at St. Peter/ St. Luke until further notice.  We won’t gather on Palm Sunday April 6; Holy Week and Easter are in jeopardy.  So STAY TUNED for updates, which will be posted at our web site, stpeterblackberry.org, and regularly sent to you via email.

The link below will take you to a Sunday service we do each week – live at 8:45 am, but also available later in the day.  (We will get the audio improved by this next week, I promise!)

Our homebound folks could use some extra care.  Could you send them a little note this week?  If you need an address, please consult the church directory, or ask me.

Giving:  We still need your gifts; the bills keep coming!  Every donation will help get us through this time of ‘no offering plate’.  You can mail them, or ask your bank to do ‘direct deposit’ to the church. If you must decrease your offering at this time, we understand; just send what you can.

Please know I am praying for you, and for any who are struggling at this time.
Call if you need me!

Worship Services Cancelled

Important update:  Sunday service at St. Peter is CANCELLED until Palm Sunday (April 5) due to the Covid-19 virus.   We will reassess having the Palm Sunday service as we get closer.

Sunday AND Midweek Lenten services at our partner congregation (St. Luke’s, Curtice) are also CANCELLED (including Palm Sunday).  They will reassess Holy Week as we get closer.

St. Peter’s service is streamed online each week.   Join me at 8:45 AM on March 22 & 29 for prayers, music and preaching!  (You can wear your comfy bathrobe; no one will know!)

In the meantime – stay home, stay healthy and stay connected with your friends at St. Peter.  We want to do our part to keep this illness from harming anyone.  Thanks for your understanding and patience as we continue to pray for God’s healing blessing for all who are affected.

In Christ, Pr. Rita Bair

A special Congregational meeting will be held after worship on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
